An Island Farm.
The Croft is a quaint river-island farm – situated on just over five acres – located in Portland, Oregon, near where the Willamette and Columbia rivers converge. The island, which is almost twice the size of Manhattan, has only 1000 human inhabitants, and is mostly a wildlife refuge. For a hundred years the field we currently farm was a pasture for sheep. But now it is our home, work-space, and a place that we cultivate daily. Our farm is a passionate labor of love for our small family.
The Croft is committed to harvesting organically-minded vegetables, blueberries, honey, and crisp cider apples (and loving our nonhuman animals!). We operate a small, artisan produce stand year-round that helps feed individuals in the Portland Metro area, and keeps our farm – and a few our island neighbors' farms – thriving. We sell directly to families and small organizations via our CSA program. We also invite guests to come visit and learn about diversified farming and low-impact, small-home living.
We really love what we do and how we live.
